Mediation and gender based violence

The purpose of the project is to increase professional practice in addressing gender based violence in peace building processes with geographic focus on West Africa. Through collection and analysis of experiences from West-African conflicts and peace processes, the project will develop good practices on how to address questions of gender-based violence in peacebuilding processes through:1)Case study in Liberia analyzing questions of gender based violence during the peace process. The study will analyse the obstacles related to advancement of these questions during peace negotiations and the post-conflict phase. Comparative policy oriented case studies in other West African countries.2)Bringing the case study to dialogue with ECOWAS (Economic Community Of West African States) and formulating recommendations on mainstreaming practice in addressing gender based violence in peace processes.
