In need of humanitarian assistance are over 20 million people in the Sahel region. The nutrition situation is a continuous concern. The total number of people facing food insecurity is 20,4 million and the number of people dependent on food assistance is 2,6 million. WFP funding appeal for 2015 is 290 million USD.
