Assisting 80 million people in around 80 countries each year, the World Food Programme (WFP) is the leading humanitarian organization fighting hunger worldwide, delivering food assistance in emergencies and working with communities to improve nutrition and build resilience. WFP has double mandate and works in both humanitarian and development assistance 80-90 % of WFP's activities are humanitarian in nature. WFP is the cluster lead in the UN cluster system in logistics, emergency telecommunications and in food security cluster together with FAO. Finland is a strong supporter of WFP as it is one of the best and most effective agencies in humanitarian crisis situations. Finland's core funding for WFP for 2018-2021 is 32 million euros (8 million/year)
