National Dialogue and Mediation Processes - Conference II
Description
The second conference on national dialogue and mediation processes will be dedicated to topical issues and practice in these fields. The conference brings together actors and experts working on international mediation. Objectives include identifying good practices and challenges, and learning from them; strengthening the expertise, cooperation and networking of stakeholders; and develop new practical recommendations. The capacity of Finland and Finnish actors to support mediation and national dialogues will be enhanced. The lead theme will be supporting and developing national dialogues in preventing and managing conflicts. At the same time, support is directed to more inclusive mediation and peace processes. The conference will cover both thematic issues and concrete country cases, in order to support the stability and peace processes of developing countries. The conference will be organised by the Ministry for Foreign Affairs. A consortium of civil society organisations will act as the secretariat and service provider. Finn Church Aid is responsible for its coordination and secretariat function. Other partners in the consortium are CMI, Finnish Evangelic Lutheran Mission and Common Space Initiative.
