INT/Abilis-foundation
Description
2013-2015: During the forthcoming funding period Abilis Foundation will continue the implementation of the grant making mechanism, Foundation’s successful and main activities since late 1990’s. The priority of the grant making mechanism is to provide support in the Global South in such a way that persons with disabilities plan and implement projects. Participation of persons with disabilities is a precondition and carrying responsibilities is requested. Through conducting projects people with disabilities get empowerment and their capacity is built. The focal points of the Abilis funding are the human rights of people with disabilities and the work to realize these rights. Over the coming years Abilis Foundation will intensify the funding activities i.e. in the Mekong region and in some new partner countries to ensure that more persons with disabilities living in poverty can participate, generate income and improve their own status in a community and in a wider society. To be able to measure results and impacts Abilis Foundation will create a system through which a systematic data collection can be carried out from different types of projects, their effectiveness and sustainability. The quality assurance of Abilis Foundation includes all these activities aiming at development and improvement of the Foundation’s work. Improvement of living conditions and possibilities to participate of people with disabilities require a long-lasting effort. Abilis Foundation has a commitment to work for it.
