Developing countries' participation to international environmental negotiations and conferences

This support enables experts and officials from developing countries to participate in international environmental meetings, agreement negotiations and expert seminars. Participation of experts and officials from developing countries to international environmental meetings strengthens the capacity of the countries to implement the existing agreements, participate in the follow-up and review procedures, and participate in the development of global environmental governance regime. In order to promote sustainable development, it is essential that developing countries take international environmental agreements into account in their national development strategies. The support of Finland for the participation of experts and officials from developing countries to international environmental meetings is 240 000 euros in year 2018.
