WFP Syrian crisis

The Syrian humanitarian crisis affects a growing number of the country's 21.4 million population. There are 13,5 million people in need of humanitarian assistance of whom 6 million children. In the beginning of 2016 the number of Syrian refugees amounted to 4,7 million and 6,5 million people were internally displaced in Syria. The total need of humanitarian assistance, including inside Syria (HRP) and the neighboring countries (3RP), is 7,73 billion USD. WFP's share of the total appeal is over 1,1 billion USD. WFP's needs for 2016 for the Syria region are 467 million USD. WFP's operations inside Syria reaches per month about 4 million people in need and the regional operations have approximately 1,7 million beneficiaries on a monthly basis.
