Quick Impact Projects in Lebanon
Description
Quick Impact Projects in Lebanon support local governance and the development of local communities and villages in Southern Lebanon, which is still suffering from the damage caused by the 2006 conflict between Israel and Hezbollah. The projects will be implemented by Finland's UNIFIL troops. The projects aim is to build trust between UNIFIL troops and the local communities by supporting local development. The identification and implementation of the projects is under the responsability of the Finland's UNIFIL troops and they follow Quick Impact Project guidance provided by the MFA. The support will be used in sectors including security, infrastructure, road safety, water and education. The activities consist of e.g. equipment of health centres and ambulances, improvment of road safety and renovation and equipment of schools and kindergartens.
