Strengthening National Capacities to Prevent and Address Violence Against Women in the Field of Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice

The project aims at preventing and addressing violence against women as part of UNODC's programme that pomotes reform in crime prevention and criminal justice. By brining gender dimention as an integral part of crime prvention and judicial system the project paves the way for establishing a gender sensitive data base and instruments for tackling violence against women. It is forseen that the instruments will be tested in concrete measures in pilot countires. In this way the project strengthens the capacity of the authorities in preventing violence against women. Finlnad aims at supporting the project with 1,5 milion euros during 2013-2015. The over all budget of the project is UAD 2,5 million.
