Implementing the 10YFP Sustainable Buildings and Construction Programme through the 10YFP Trust Fund
Description
The New Urban Agenda(NUA) was approved in the Habitat III conference in 2016. Finland has a high profile in the 10YFP programme on sustainable consumption and production and especially its subprogramme on sustainable construction (SBC). Now Finland is planning to provide 200 000 euros in 2017 in support of the implementation of the SBC programme in developing countries. This support also contributes to implementation of NUA and the Agenda 2030. The aim of this project is to advance the implementation of Sustainable Buildings and Construction (SBC) programme in developing and emerging economies, through the Trust Fund of the 10-Year Framework of Programmes on Sustainable Consumption and Production patterns (10YFP). The final project/s will be selected based on the results of the call for proposals held for the SBC programme under the Trust Fund. The beneficiaries of the SBC-programme are government, private sector, NGOs, research institutes and citizens as a whole. Through networking in the programme the results can be used globally for achieving sustainable building and construction targets. Eventually the state of the environment also benefits.
