UNDP support to the Global Partnership for Effective Development Co-operation

The Global Partnership for Effective Development Co-operation (GPEDC) was created in 2011 in the Busan High Level Forum and formally established in June 2012 with a view to strengthen the results of development cooperation and to sustain the political commitments made in terms of improving the quality of collaboration. The GPEDC document invites OECD and UNDP to support the effective functioning of the Global Partnership, with UNDP placing a particular emphasis on supporting country and regional level efforts and leveraging its existing capacities and expertise in this area, as well as support for communications. Successful preparations and monitoring exercise in the partner country level will contribute to ensuring the partner countries' ownership for their own development efforts and to maintaining the effectiveness agenda in the Post-2015 discussions Finnish support to the impelmentation of the current workplan will be earmarked to GPEDC operations implemented by UNDP within the framework of the UNDP Global programme "Capacity Development for Aid Effectiveness".
