JPO/UNV Programme
Description
Through the SARC/JPO/UNV programmes Finnish professionals are recruited as Junior Professional Officers (JPO) , UN Volunteers (UNV) or Special Assistants to Resident Coordinators (SARC) to work with international organizations worldwide. The objectives of the programmes are to allow young Finnish professionals to gain experience and understanding of multilateral development cooperation, to increase the number of Finns working within development cooperation, to promote Finnish expertise and know-how around the world and to allow Finnish nationals the possibility to be recruited into international organizations. Currently Finland funds approx.35 JPOs, 13 UNVs and four SARCs. The budget in 2017 for the programmes was 6, 86 mill. Euro. For 2018 the budget is 3, 69 mill. Euro.
