INT/Aid for Trade for Central Asia
Description
UNDP is implementing the flagship project on the theme Aid For Trade in the framework of Wider Europe Initiative. The first Phase of the programme (2009-2010) consisted of three components: 1) Aid for Trade Road Map in Central Asia: Identification of national and regional AfT priorities, 2) Support to Economic Development along Trade Corridors, 3) AfT Needs Assessments in Eastern Europe and Central Asia. The Phase I provided a background for broader AfT support during Phase II. Phase II is based on the results of the Phase I and is being implemented during 2011 - 2013. Phase III (2014-17) is being implemented in Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan, deepening the already built structures and widening the geographical areas of the project in these countries. Finland has financed the phases I and II with 6,2 million euro. The budget of the phase III is 9 million euro.
