ET/Darimu Integrated Rural Development Project (DIRDP)
Description
The Development problems in Darimu woreda area are: -Not enough clean water in the area but water born diseases. -Education is not available for all and not for girls especially. -No access to clinics, hospitals and government offices during the rainy season. -Not enough income generating possibilities for women. To get more clean water the project will protect 18 springs and dig 6 hand dug wells. 900 school children will get enough class rooms. School girls will get their own toilets which will make it possible also for older girls to continue schooling. The maintained road and the constructed bridge over Bambi River will make the transportation and business easier for Alga-Bendo people. The people have better access to offices and hospital even in the rainy season. To improve income generating possibilities for women: Six women saving and credit schemes will be organized.
