UN; OHCHR; Strengtening Accountability for Sustainable Development using Human Rights Indicatores

The Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) has worked systematically on human rights indicators since 2004. Human rights indicators help to measure the implementation of human rights norms. Finland will during the period of July-December 2015 support OHCHR´s human rights indicators work through supporting in-country capacity building in developing countries, an expert workshop on a proposed human rights approach to sustainable development goals' indicators, the development of a reference list of indicators on freedom of association and assembly and strengthening partnerships to integrate human rights in the development of indicators a the national and international levels. The objectives of the project are 1) mainstreaming of human rights indicators throughout the Post-2015 Development Agenda; 2) systematization of measurement of human rights indicators at the national level in at least two developing countries; 3) sharing of good practices and building partnerships between national statistical offices and human rights organisations; 4) developing a reference list of indicators on freedom of association and assembly. The work of OHCHR will be supported by a sum of 145.975 euro.
