The health situation in Muleete and surrounding villages is generally poor. The mortality rate of children under 5 years and the maternal mortality rate are among the highest in the world. There is also high incidence of communicable diseases. Lack of heath services, especially maternity and children´s care, is a problem in the area as well as lack of clean water and electricity.
