Support to Finnish Water Forum
Description
The Finnish Water Forum aims to improve the sustainable development of the partner countries' water sectors. Sustainable development of the water sector affects positively on living conditions, equal opportunities, public and private sectors, jobs and the societies as a whole. The Finnish Water Forum brings together different actors in the water sector in order to create better qualified development co-operation and projects, increases awareness on development co-operation and the positive impacts of it, and contributes to the international development cooperation strategies. The work is being done In cooperation with members and members' partners. The impacts of the Finnish Water Forum activities contributes specifically to Finland's long-term partner countries and other countries in need of co-operation. The activities have both direct and indirect development results, and are in line with the UN and UN organizations' declarations and the aims of the OECD DAC. The Finnish Water Forum (FWF) brings together different actors in the water sector, promotes them and makes them better known in the international markets. The Finnish Water Forum's members consist of different ministries, research institutions, universities and private companies and associations. The Ministry for Foreign Affairs has financed the Finnish Water Forum since 2009. In 2015, the support will be used specifically for partnerships and networking as well as communications and advocacy work.
