INT/Finland's annual payment to the UN Human Settlements Programme
Description
UN Habitat's mission is to promote socially and environmentally sustainable human settlements development and the achievement of adequate shelter for all. Finland supports UN Habitat in the carrying out its mandate and especially its normative functions. A key objective of Habitat's activities has been the attaintment of the MDG concerning slums. UN Habitat's mandate will be renewed and updated in the Habitat III conference to be organized in 2016. The programme also has close links with the post-2015 agenda especially in relation to the goal 11. The importance of the UN Habitat continues to increase as urbanization continues as a global phenomena. Finland's support to UN Habitat in 2015 will be 470 000 euros.
