Fightings in the summer 2014 in Gaza were strong and according to UN estimation over 2100 person died of which 1473 were civilians. About 450 000 persons left their home. 18 000 houses were destroyed or damaged leaving about 108 000 persons homeless. Red Cross and Red Crescent distributus to thousands of households NFIs, assists in health care and restoring electricity and water supplies. ICRC participates in protection, work with the detainees and promotes IHL.
