INT/Form of cultural and media co-operation; second application round in 2014

Cultural projects for which development cooperation funds are used promote the general objectives of Finland's Development Policy Programme. Cultural cooperation projects supplement the array of tools used in Finland's development aid and expand and diversify its sphere of influence. The objective of cultural exchanges is to promote cooperation between cultural players in developing countries and Finland and to support cultural activities in and the cultural identities of developing countries. Cooperation, training and education of cultural players help to improve the economic and professional capacities, social development and livelihoods of grassroots level cultural actors. When projects are selected for the second application round in 2014, attention will be paid to an equal treatment of different fields of culture and continents and to what makes a project different from other formes of cooperation and support. Cultural cooperation seeks to support developing countries' economic and social development and poverty reduction.
