Support to Civil Society in Mozambique

The objective of civil society support of Finland's Good Governance Programme, which is channeled via MASC (Mecanismo de Apio de Sociedade Civil), is to support the capacity and influencing of civil society players and to strengthen the MASC support mechanism in Mozambique. The main objective of MASC is a credible, transparent and vibrant civil society that contributes to the democratization of the state and public space and promotes social justice. The objectives of the MASC Strategy are; 1) to strengthen the credibility and transparency of the civil society players, 2) to empower the civil society to give its input to the democratisation of the society and to the social justice, and to secure the credible, sustainable and efficient MASC. MASC supports the administrative capacity, influencing and networking of the Civil Society. MASC carries out an annual participatory politico-economic analysis on national and regional standards. Finland's support to MASC for 2015-2018 is 750 000 Euros per year, that is 3 million Euros in total.
