Promotion of Good Governance to Strengthen Integrity and Accountability in Kenya
Description
The objective of the Programme is: service delivery at the national and county level is improved according to principles of good governance (incorruptibility, fairness, efficiency).In order to achieve this objective the project will contribute to increase the utilisation of the public complaints handling mechanism (area of activity 1), improve capacities of 5 selected county governments to achieve compliance with regulations on transparency and accountability (area of activity 2), and improve prosecution, adjudication and enforcement of court decisions of corruption and other crimes (area of activity 3). The program will continue working with partners along the anti-corruption chain. The program will lay the foundations for less corrupt, fairer and more efficient public service delivery in the counties of Kisumu, Mombasa, Elgeyo-Marakwet, Kwale and Vihiga. The Programme is implemented by GIZ together with Kenyan institutions. Also the participation of civil cosiety is enhanced. The Programme period is 2017-2018 and the total budget of the Programme is 9,6 million euros. Finland's support is 2 million euros.
