Meta-evaluation 2014-2015

Development evaluation unit EVA-11 carries out on a regular basis so called meta-evaluations which assess the quality of project and programme evaluations, aggregate their results and analyze Finnish development cooperation based on these results. Both evaluations and meta-evaluations are an essential part of the accountability and openness of development cooperation. Meta-evaluations are also an important tool in promoting results based management. The assessment tools used in meta-evaluation must be standardized in order to enable comparison between different meta-evaluations in the future. Therefore, the assessment tools must be further developed as a part of meta-evaluation 2014-2015. Development work will take more time and resources as was predicted in the beginning of the meta-evaluation. The number of consultancy days will be increased with 15 days and the overall budget will be 212 335 €. Additional costs are 12 335 euros.
