EBRD's ETC Fund and Multi-Donor Cooperation
Description
EBRD founded the ETC fund (Early Transition Countries Fund) in 2004 for the poorest countries in the Union of Independent States. The activities have now been spread to 9 countries in Eastern Europe, Central Asia and South Caucasus as well as to Mongolia. The main priorities of the fund are 1) promoting private sector development, especially SME sector, 2) Strengthening the financial sector, and 3) Improving access to and delivery of affordable basis service. Finland has supported the fund in 2004-2011 with 3,5 million euros. Finland's additional funding to the fund in 2014 is 0,5 million euros.
