Ensuring the Food Security Situation and improve the welfare of OVC and their Care Giver Families in Batu Town
Description
There is large number of, destitute, starved, orphaned and vulnerable children in Maedot target areas that live or roam along the streets deprived of food, shelter and education mainly due to poverty, AIDS, permanent disability and destabilization of their parents or care givers. Maedot is a child and woman focused Ethiopian Residents Charity that undertakes integrated urban and rural programs. It has more than ten years experience of similar kinds of projects. The overall objective of the project is to enable families in Batu ( Zeway ) town of Oromiya Region to have access to facility or technical infrastructure, knowledge, skills and resource for the production and supply of food and eventually improve food security situation of 1 400 disadvantaged children and / or orphans and vulnerable children (OVC), 500 OVC care giver families and other poor and food insecure OVC care giver families, and families directly affected by poverty and HIV/AIDS in the target areas.
