The already critical humanitarian situation in South Sudan deteriorated substantially on the 15th of December 2013 because of the domestic policy conflict. During the last five months hunreds of thousands of people have left their homes. According to OCHA 4,9 million people are in the need of humanitarian assistance. About 1,3 million people are displaced. People fleeing the conflict are exposed to violence, gender based violence and food insecurity. About 3,7 million people are living exposed to food insecurity. MFA appropriates to Finn Church Aid's operation in South Sudan 200 000 €.
