Partnership for Infrastructure Development Multi-Donor Trust Fund

The World Banks's Trust Fund provides co-financing for infrastructure projects and programs in the water and urban development, and energy sectors in the occupied Palestinian territory. The overall objective for the Trust Fund is to improve the coverage, quality, and sustainability of infrastructure in the West Bank and Gaza through financial and technical assistance to the Palestinian Authority for infrastructure development and related capacity building and institutional development. The objective of Finland's support is better quality and more sustainable water and waste water services. 2014 war caused enormous destruction to the infrastructure in Gaza and the projects were restarted from significantly reduced baseline. Finland's support was directed to Gaza in 2014. Reconstruction of the Gaza water infrastructure succeeded well; 1,7 million people were provided with access to improved water sources (about 1,9 million people live in Gaza). Finland's support is 3,65 million euros during 2015 - 2016.
