Quick Impact Projects in the Central African Republic
Description
Quick Impact Projects in the Central African Republic support local governance and the development of local communities and villages in the surroundings of Bangui, the capital of the Central African Republic, in the fragile situation after the civil war. The projects not only support local development, but also build trust between EUFOR RCA troops and the local communities. The projects will be implemented in the supervision of Finland's EUFOR RCA troops. The EUFOR RCA CIMIC group (civil-military cooperation) has chosen the projects and will choose the project organization to implement the projects. The total budget is 35 000 euros and the small projects (5000 - 15 000 euros) will be implemented before the completition of the mandate of the Finnish operation in RCA, that is before 15.3.2015. The objectives of the projects are to buy furniture and materials for a school, to repair football and basketball fields and equip them with goals and baskets, buy medical material to a maternity clinic, fix the toilets of an orphanage/school for children with HIV/AIDS and build a drinking-water well for the orphanage/school.
