Strengthening the capacity of Nepal Scouts
Description
Nepal is a country with a history of conflict, lack of education and rule by the few. Our project aims to tackle these issues by strengthening the capacity of a local youth organization - Nepal Scouts - which with 30 000 members working with the youth all over Nepal. The objective of the project in the long run is to promote the participation of children and youth, gender equality, as well as role of the civil society, in developing local communities and peace building by strengthening the capacity of Nepal Scouts. By enabling Nepal Scouts to be more efficient and democratic NGO, the project aims to enforce civil participation of Nepalese citizens as well as offer quality non-formal education. The project and it's two hired employees will work from the Nepal Scouts Headquarters in Kathmandu, from where they will organize project activities in cooperation with the Nepal Scouts volunteers all over the country. The project's main activities are Youth Participation and Peace Forums, Leadership Trainings, Trainers' Seminars (ToT), locally organized Community Development Projects and development of Educational Methods. Beneficiaries constitute from young membes of Nepal Scouts, volunteering scout leaders, scout trainers, local community people and key persons of Nepal Scouts.
