Teachers without borders -network

Teachers without borders –network works to improve and increase the involvement of teachers and other education professionals in development cooperation. The objective is to contribute to quality of education in developing countries. The network has nearly 1000 members and Finn Church Aid serves as its secretariat. The network is led by a steering committee consisting of OAJ, Kepa, CIMO, Finnish National Board of Education, Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Finland and the Universities of Helsinki and Oulu. The specific objective of the proposed project is to organize one round of recruitment of volunteer teachers to work in the education related projects supported by the Finnish NGO's and through this to pilot and assess the relevance, effectiveness, efficiency and feasibility of the project as a permanent function of the network. The project will develop assess and evaluation tools to collect the views and experience of the volunteers, organisations and beneficiaries. The project will be led by the Steering Committee and managed by CIMO on request of MFA based on the agreement between the two agencies. The Steering Committee is responsible for the analysis of the information and data collected in the assessment. CIMO reports to MFA semiannually and at the end of the project.
