World Food Programme WFP is an UN organization which is responsible for food assistance. Finland supports WFP because it is one of the most effective actors in humanitarian crisis. WFP is one of the biggest channels of humanitarian assistance of Finland. WFP has a dual mandate and according to that it uses food assistance also to support economic and social development. Core funding is flexible funding which WFP is able to use where the needs are the greatest.
