Cyclone Komen caused heavy rains since mid-July 2015 over many areas around Western and Northern Myanmar. Rains still continue and have triggered floods and landslides. About 300 000 households have left their homes. Floods have affected over 1,3 million people lives. In August there are at least over 100 confirmed deaths. Farmland has been damaged. IFRC has launched an appeal 11th of August 2015. It focuses on meeting the basic needs of people like shelter, food and water as well as on first aid and health care.
