Description
Finland issued its first National Action Plan for the implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 1325 on Women, Peace and Security in 2008. The Action Plan has been an important instrument in efforts to increase interest in the status of women and in women’s participation in issues related to peace and security, both nationally and internationally. In order to intensify the implementation of the Resolution, Finland has prepared a new results-oriented Action Plan for the period 2012–2016.. The Action Programme aims to strengthen the Finnish know-how and the status of the 1325 issues in 2012-2016. To improve the quality of Finland’s work in terms of Women, peace and security agenda (UNSC resolution 13259. The funds are used for productive preparation of the 1325 work, evaluation and monitoring with the help of Ministry's own staff and outside consultants. In addition, the funds are used in a variety of small-scale studies and seminars, as well as the 1325 work-related travel expenses.
