European Report on Development (ERD); Finland's contribution 2013/2014

Supported by the European Commission and four Member States, the European Report on Development (ERD) is the main output of the Commission’s "Mobilising European Research for Development Policies" -initiative. The report has been published annually since 2009, with the aim of stimulating debate and research on topics of major relevance for development. The ERD complements other global reports on development with specific European views. In addition to the main report, several background papers are also published. The ERD supports Finland’s development policy objectives to strengthen the EU’s global role and research capacity and it provides analytical data for the planning, decision-making and implementation of development cooperation. Finland's funding for the ERD 2013/2014 is 60 000 euros. The topic for the report is "Financing and other means of implementation in the Post-2015 context" and the authors of the report shall be selected through an open tender process. Finland also plans to co-fund an independent evaluation of the ERD.
