Promotion of the work concerning democracy, good governance and stability of the eastern partnership of the EU

The focus of the Wider European initiative (WEI) 2014 - 2017 is the promotion of human rights and a democratic and responsible society. This objective is pursued a by supporting the thematic block of democracy, good governance and stability of the EU’s Eastern Partnership (EaP). The EaP countries are Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine. In this framework Finland will organize together with Estonia a seminar for the EaP countries and carry out a comparative study. The aim is to further the openness of the EaP countries’ public administration by improving the level of personal data protection and developing e-governance. Participation of external experts to other similar EaP seminars and trainings will also be supported.
