DECIDE Project - Disability Empowerment, Participation and Dialogue
Description
The project supports the capacity building of disabled people's organizations (DPOs) and public authorities to take better into account the rights of persons with disabilities. The project works in Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Mauritania and Libya and the aim is to enhance regional integration of DPOs in North Africa and increase the sharing of the best practices throughout the whole MENA region. DPOs will receive both training and tools for their advocacy work at the national as well as community level. Finnish funding of 800 000 euros for the project is for an implementation period of 27 months starting in the autumn of 2014. In the OECD/DAC classification Mauritania is a LDC country, Morocco is lower middle income country and Algeria, Tunisia and Libya are upper middle income countries. The funding is 800 000 Euros for 27 months starting in the autumn of 2014.
