Western Balkans/Support to the Regional Cooperation Council RCC
Description
RCC (Regional Cooperation Council) supports the political and economic development, mutual cooperation and euro-atlantic integration of the South-East European countries. Finland has participated in the RCC activities and supported RCC since the establishment of the organisation in 2008. The priority areas of RCC are economic and social development, infrastructure, justice and home affairs, security cooperation, building human capital and parilamentary cooperation. The secretariat based in Sarajevo supports decision-making of RCC and facilitates cooperation projects of regional actors. Finland supports the secretariat of RCC with 50 000 euros annually. At the same time Finland is given the right to participate in RCC's decision-making. Through the secretariat Finland's support is also given to the administration of regional projects. The same amount of Finnish support is planned to be given annually. The support will be given still in 2014.
