Family Strengthening Programme / social centre Goderich
Description
The goal of the project are human rights, especially the rights of children and women. The overall objective of the programme is to enable children that are at risk of losing their parental care to grow within their natural family environment. These objectives are reached by working with the targeted children, families and communities to empower them to effectively protect and care for the children in cooperation with local authorities and other services providers. The programme objective is also to alleviate poverty in the region and to advocate for the rights of children. The chosen activities will depend on the needs identified in the familiy development plan (FDP) of each participating family. These activities are related to education, nutrition, hygiene, living conditions, medical support, counselling, childcare, children's rights, adult literacy, basic financial management, income generating activity and job finding. The continuation of the programme will focus on activities related to income generating activities (IGA). At full potential the program will reach 1000 children and 240 families (mainly women caregivers).
