Communications with stakeholders
The realisation of Finland’s development policy goals rests on citizens’ and stakeholders’ support on principle. The aim of communications is to bring forward the expertise and experience of people working with development policy and development cooperation in relevant public discussions. To achieve this aim there must be well-timed public authority communications as well as goal-oriented media work and communications with stakeholders. The Unit for Development Communications produces tools for use of the entire administration when communicating about development policy and development cooperation. The appropriations for communications with stakeholders are used to implement an orientation programme for opinion-makers, which was planned for the previous year, as well as an opinion poll and tailored focus group survey. The appropriations for communications with stakeholders are also used to produce material for events, such as cotton cloth bags, and facilitate the membership of the DEVCOM network of the OECD Development Centre.
