IFRC/ FRC, humanitarian assistance 2018

In 2018 the International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies IFRC together with the Finnish Red Cross (FRC) will implement operations in Syria and Bangladesh. In Syria, the operation is implemented together with Syrian Red Crescent (SARC) and food assistance will be provided to 1,27 million people, hygiene kits for 1,07 million people and NFIs for 400 000 people. FRC contributes to the Syria operation with financial support and human resources. In Bangladesh, FRC will be leading a secondary level emergency hospital with support from other national societies. Direct support includes provision of medical supplies, medicines and human resources. The hospital will serve approximately 5 400 patients each month, altogether 48 600 patients during next 9 months. MFA funding for the operations is 1 000 000 euros for Syria and 1 800 000 euros for Bangladesh.
