"NEXT STEP" for El Adde schooling development

Description

The focus of the new project is to enable high school graduates from El-Adde school to continue their post secondary education in their home region. The whole project is estimates to last nine years. At this point resources for the first three year phase are being requested. The key objective of the project is to establish vocational school with 2 departments along with continued support and strengthening of the existing high school. During the first phase (2013- 2015) the school infrastructure and school buildings including work-shops will be constructed and furnished/equipped. As a cost saving exercise the existing high school will be expanded to include a vocational school. Main activities for the first 3-years phase are:2013 Build and furnish six classrooms and a workshop for the nursing and carpentry classes.• Continue support for the existing high school by paying teacher salaries (5 teachers)• recruit a cleaner and watchman.• Employ 2 ARD staff for the supervision and implementation of the project.• Employ auditor and book keeper.• Hold capacity building training seminars for teachers, community school board members, and our delivery partner (ARD). – We expect to have at least 8 participants (2 from ARD, and 4 secondary school teachers, 2 community members) 2014,• Recruit vocational school teachers (5 teachers and one teacher/administrator)• Continue and the payment of salaries of existing 5 secondary school teachers.• Hold capacity building training seminars for teachers, community school board members, and our delivery partner (ARD). – We expect to have at least 12 participants (2 from ARD, and 4 secondary school teachers, 2 community members, and 4 from vocational school teachers) •oditor’s and book keeper’s fees.2015,• High school and vocational school teachers' salaries,• Hold capacity building training seminars for teachers, community school board members, and our delivery partner (ARD). – We expect to have at least 12 participants (2 from ARD, and 4 secondary school teachers, 2 community members, and 4 from vocational school teachers) • Continue to pay for auditor’s and book keeper’s fees.• Plan and launch a scholarship program for students aiming for university studies • The final evaluations and follow-up plans.
