FRC/ICRC/Humanitarian Mine Action in Ukraine
Description
In Ukraine the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) works with communities in front-line and buffer zones to help them reduce the risk of mines and explosive remnants of war. ICRC supports the humanitarian demining and increases the capacity of the Ukrainian Red Cross in humanitarian mine action. ICRC will also support two rehabilitation centers. Beneficiaries of the action are the local population, especially disabled, but also national and regional authorities through the capacity building activities. Risk education will be given to children in schools. Finland will support ICRC through Finnish Red Cross during 2016-2020 with 535 000 euros.
