Description
The International Rehabilitation Council for Torture Victims (IRTC) is a health-based umbrella organisation that supports the rehabilitation of torture victims and the prevention of torture worldwide. IRCT was founded in 1985, initially as the international arm of the Rehabilitation and Research Centre for Torture Victims, and, from 1997, as an independent international membership organisation. IRCT´s main mission is to ensure that torture victims are able to access appropriate health-based torture rehabilitation services, that torture victims are able to have full access to justice, and to contribute towards the prevention of torture worldwide.
