No Lost Generation -strategy. Aid to the education sector in Lebanon
Description
The NO Lost Generation is a regional strategy, which is intended to influence the educationof those 6 million Syrian children which the current criss has made refugees in Syria and in its neighbouring countries. Finland's 5 million euros of aid is earmarked for UNICEF's activities in the education sector in Lebanon. In addition to providing education to Lebanese children, the funding is intended to assist the hundreds of thousands of Syrian children currently burdening the existing education system or who remain completely without access to education. UNICEF will focus on ensuring pre-school aged children and elementary school students access to quality education in underserviced education areas in rural regions. In particular the aid targets groups which are in the most disadvantaged situation: children and young people. UNICEF also aims to strengthen the capacity of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education.
