AZERB/Open doors-empowerment of young women
Description
After transition from a communist system to independence number of patriarchal traditions and cultural assumptions about gender roles has re-emerged in Azerbaijan, which has created gender inequality and discrimination of girls and women. The project aims at empower girls and young women towards more self-determination and active citizenship by using the Nordic Girl Group method. Girl club will be created in one of Bakus economically and socially disadvantaged suburbs and will benefit 30 girls between 14 and 18. The focus will be on non-formal education and involve teenage girls in empowering after-school activities.
