INT/OECD investment (PFI update), technical assistance
Description
Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) approved its Policy Framework for Investment in 2006. OECD ministers agreed to use the PFI as part of their development cooperation. The objective of this project is to update the PFI tool so that it can be better applied to the challenges of sustainable development. The aim is to have a wide participation to the update by OECD non-member countries (especially developing countries) and non-state actors, such as civil society organizations. In the update process will be discussed topics such as environment, gender equality, agriculture, infrastructure, updated OECD guidelines for multinational enterprises as well as the UN guiding principles on business and human rights. The objective of the project is to help developing countries benefit from sustainable investment. Beneficiaries of the project are developing countries' societies in large, i.e., firms, non-state actors, workers, government.
