POL-20 planning and monitoring funds

Description What is done in the programme or project and why, what results are pursued, who benefits from the activities and who are involved in the implementation.

The funds will be used for planning and monitoring projects by the Unit for Arms Cobntrol, Disarmament and Non-Proliferation. Particularly this means planning the biosecurity project in Tanzania, which will be implemented as an ICI-project. In addition the Quality Assurance group has asked the Unit to monitor an NGO-project in Kenya. Future NGO-projects and especially support for implementing the Arms Trade Treaty are thought to be planned and governed through these funds. The goal is to raise the quality of development cooperation projects. This benefits both the local beneficiaries and makes the control and monitoring of development cooperaton funds easier.
