Support to President Halonen's tasks concerning development policy, including co-chairing the High Level Task Force for ICPD

Support to President Halonen in carrying out her tasks related to development policy, including co-chairing the High Level Task Force for ICPD and advancing the HLTF agenda. The Task Force seeks to advance sexual and reproductive health and rights, gender equality and the empowerment of women and young people within and through the ICPD Beyond 2014 process and the Post-2015 development agenda. Among other positions President Halonen is also a member of the Sustainable Development Solutions Network's Leadership Council, a member of the Global Leaders Council for Reproductive Health, a UN Drylands Ambassador and a UN Global Champion for Disaster Risk Reduction. Through her aforementioned roles and others, and her previous positions as for example the Co-Chair of the United Nations High-level Panel on Global Sustainability, President Halonen is invited to speak and participate in numerous conferences and events. The support covers President Halonen’s and her advisor’s travel costs and other relevant costs directly related to President Halonen’s tasks concerning development policy. The support enables high-level global influencing to advance and promote the goals of Finland's Development Policy Programme, especially in the fields of climate change, gender equality, sexual and reproductive health and rights and sustainable development.
