Organisational Support for UN Women Finland


Finland National Committee for UN Women is a non-governmental organization with consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC). The national committee supports the mission of UN Women, the United Nations agency for gender equality and women’s rights, and is one of the few associations in Finland specialised in women's and girl's rights. Reducing the inequality between women and men is one of the UN Millennium Development Goals and also one of the main focus areas of the Finnish development policy. The association coordinates the 1325 Network consisting of non-governmental organizations and independent researches as well as experts that work for the promotion of human rights and equality. Finland National Committee for UN Women applies the organisational support for the general activities as well information and development education.
