Enhancing Child Protection System in Nepal
Description
In spite of commitment, government of Nepal has been inefficient to meet the requirements for protecting children from different forms of abuse, violence and exploitation. NGOs have become crucial actors, though the actions of NGOs are also questioned and sometimes their capacities and skills are also questioned. The government child protection policies are still waiting for formal adaptation. The project aims at establishing child protection system and mechanism at local level with appropriate policy guidance. Specific objectives are: promotion of national child protection network, application of child protection policies, and strengthening of local child protection committees. The project has component of advocacy, network building, capacity building, and production and sharing of resource materials.
